Cayenne Pepper


Cayenne pepper is related with sweet peppers, hot peppers, jalapenos and paprika. It is a hot chili pepper used to flavor dishes. It is named to honor the city Cayenne, in French Guiana.
It is called “The king of herbs” mainly for its healing properties. Added to the diet, according to studies, it helps to avoid stomach aches and cramps. At the same time, researches have shown that it reduces blood cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels, and its sense often helps treating headaches.
Cayenne pepper tastes well with Greek and Mediterranean cuisine such as beef, lamb, pork, legumes and red sauces. It is also used in the cooking of spicy dishes, as a powder or whole (mainly in Asian cuisines) or in light sauces based on vinegar.
